London

Hello Everyone!
I would've rather done this on facebook but for some reason the computer i am using in London Heathrtow Airport won't let me get to facebook. I apologize for all the spelling errors as the keyboard is a little bit different and it is messing me up!
We arrived in London from the Ukraine on the 6th of August and now we are heading back home tongiht. It is funny because our flight leaves at 5:10 and and gets in at 6:30 although it is actually a 9 hour flight. I am very overtired and am NOT looking forward to it!

At camp in the Ukraine, we met so many amzing kids and had such a great time. We were able to pass out bibles although we did tick the camp epople off quite a bit. This camp was very communist and had a large statue of Lenin right outside of the dining hall. So, on North american day when we handed out bibles, read Psalm 139 and did a drama that had a cross as one of the props got us in big trouble! We really overdid it by handing out bibles on the same night. That is always myfavourite part because they all want you to sign it and they treasure the bible because it is from the internationals which makes is more likely that they will actuially read it. We gave out several childrens bibles and Fred Lutsenko who is Vice President of the organisation told us that many of the kids's goal was to finissh reading their bibles before we left. It was very encouraging.

Among the freinds i made, there were several special ones. Of course, the other three teens from the international team: Liz, Ivory and Carson. We have a 'band' which really isn't a band because all we do is pose for 'band' pictures. It's either called LICK (for Liz, Ivory, Carson, Kyla) or Johnny and the Chiclets. We can't decide. There was also the drama team called Chance Studio from Russia. All 9 of them were awesome! There is 8 girls (Janna, Lena, Ksusha, Marina, Tanya, Anya, Nastya, Nastya (and yes, there was 2 Nastyas)) and one boy named Egor. The girls always say his name with such disgust if he bothers them so Ivory, Liz and I got quite a kick out of trying to say his name like the girls do. They say it Yegorrrr, roilling the r.
Well, i better go, but i will see everyone soon hopefully.
Chao for now!

Hello again!
Well, it has been sooo flipping hot here in vernon! Thursday i think it was 40 degrees out! It was so hot and our air conditioner was leaking so we had to shut it off. My heart goes out to all those people who don't have air conditioners!!! We got ours put in when i was about 7 so i don't really remember what it was like. Haha that sounds so funny! I don't remember what my life was like before i had my air conditioner.
My mom and Melissa are out of town this weekend at the Calgary Stampede where Melissa, Courtney and Laurel got to be in the parade. So i've been stuck at home with my dad and Brandon. They are very boring. All they like to do is sit around and watch movies. It is kind of frustrating. Anyways, mom gets home tonight around 10 and i can't wait until we can stop eating ravioli out of a can and take out. I am not good at cooking at all so that's what we've been lmited to these past few days.
I'll write again soon i hope!

P.S. Only 14 days til i leave for the Ukraine!!!

Hello Again!
First off... SCHOOL"S OUT!!!! And it's supposed to be summer but my mother told me that today it snowed up at Silver Star. IT'S JUNE!!!! IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO SNOW IN JUNE!!! That kinda made me mad but w/e.
The Ericksons were up here in Vernon all weekend for Jason and Darcie Weglo's wedding. Darcie looked soooo beautiful and her gown was gorgeous!! The reception was lots of fun too. Laura Phillips and i danced to S Club 7. Hahaha. I love dancing but not so much in public.. hehe. Anyways, while the Ericksons were here, we pretty much huung out at home, watched movies, chatted or played soccer or lacrosse in the backyard. It is always fun when they come. Shelley took us out for Starbs last night then we came back to my house and watched Hitch and Madagascar. Hitch is soooo funny and Shelley had never seen Madagascar so it was cool.
Right now i'm babysitting again for the Mitchells. The little girl is already in bed so i just have to sit around and make sure she doesn;t wake up. Sometimes i like babysitting when the kids are in bed, but sometimes i wish they were awake. Tonight, i wish she was awake. When i got here, i only got to play with her for like 20 minutes before she started to get tired, so i put her down for bed.
Since last night was so late, i plan on going home, having a nice hot shower then going straight to bed! I've been feeling kidna funny today. For a while my head was really sore, then i was feeling sikc to my stomach. It's weired. Oh well. A good night's sleep will do me good!
I'll write again soon!

Sarah, this is for you : )

Hello Everyone!

Well i am pretty excited because tomorrow is my last exam, then grade 9 is over!!! Today i had two exams, Math and Social Studies. I think i did pretty good in math but my socials teacher is kind of crazy and never uses multiple choice on her tests so they are pretty much all paragraphs and i'm pretty sure i did really bad on that exam. She says multiple choice doesn;t prove that you know anything.

After my math exam, i came home for lunch and i was downstairs when my kitten, Yoda, came downstairs and jumped up onto my lap. He was doing this weird thing with his paws where he would bring them up to his head like he was trying to scratch it or something. THen i noticed that under his chin was all wet like h'e d been drooling. Somehow, i don't know how, he had managed to get the bottom half of his jaw stuck in his collar so it was pinned to his neck. So, he couldn't close his mouth so he was drooling all over himself!!! It was kinda funny but i felt really bad for him! THen, my friend Julia came over and we tried for about 15 minutes to get it off him. I tried calling my mom at the church, but she was in a staff meeting. Finally when it was over, i told her what had happened and she came home to get it off. It only took her about a minute to get it off of him but then he kept opening his mouth like it was sore. He is fine now, but it was just sooooo funny, but not at the same time. Here are a couple pictures i took. (I know, i'm so nice! My cat can't shut his mouth and i pull out my camera to capture the moment)

Anyways, i am pretty psyched for the end of school and of course, the Ericksons coming on Thursday for Jason and Darcie's wedding this Saturday. I haven;t seen them since March? i forget what month but the point is it's been too long! Can;t wait to see them!

I'll write again soon, i promise (Sarah)

Summer...

Wow! It's been a long time since i've written! For those of you who may not know, i am officially going to the Ukraine on July 21. Something pretty cool about that though is on the way there, we get a lay-over in London England! We get in around 5 at night their time and fly out the next day at about 10! We also get a day of sightseeing in Kiev before camp starts this year. Last year, we went straight to camp and had our sightseeing in Moscow after. On the way home, we get a 2 night lay-over in London which means a whole day of sightseeing!!!! Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and all those touristy locations are what i hope to see that day! Also, on my list of things to do before i die is drink tea in London so i'm definately do that and also ride a double decker bus! I really wanna do that!
God blessed me so much this year! I didn't have to put any money towards my trip because of so many generous donations! Now the only thing i need funds for is Bibles! They cost $7 each and we want to take a bout 2000 over to hand out to all the kids at camp, all the kids at neighbouring camps and some of the staff at the orphanage we will be going. I really wish the kids were at the orphange but usually, Fred and Olga told us, the kids are away at relatives houses for the summer or they're at camp, like the one we put on. Last year, there were 12 orphans at our camp of 300 kids and 4 of them were even from the orphanage where we went and painted the playground equipment for them! It was soo good to know that we were directly impacting some of the kids we'd actually met!
When i get back from the Ukraine, i need to get a job. I don't really think that if i apply now anyone will hire me because of the fact that i need 2 and a half weeks off this summer for the Ukraine, and one week for camping with the Ericksons (I can't not go! That would break tradition and we didn't go last year so i am going and that is final!!). I guess i'll just b e applying when i get home. I am going to apply at a coyuple places and write in my cover letter about my summer situation but i don't think they'll hire me!
Well, i'd better go, but i'll try and be more consistent and write more frequently!

P.S. Please keep the donations for bibles situation in your prayers. That would be awesome!
